A century and a half in, it is clear the Naval Institute has solidified its place in history. The Institute was founded and has been headquartered on the Naval Academy Yard for 150 years—thanks in part to a 1936 Act of Congress—and we hope to make our home here for another 150.
The Institute’s longevity, stability, and milestone anniversary make this the perfect time to show your support and meld your history with the Institute’s through a personalized auditorium chair or a “brick” at the Jack C. Taylor Conference Center. You can memorialize your own experiences, of course, or honor your family, shipmate, ship, or personal hero. Within reason, anything goes!
This is a rare opportunity to express yourself in your own words for posterity. The imaginative, poignant, humorous, and sometimes cryptic personalizations received so far have been delighting event attendees since the Conference Center opened. While you can’t buy real estate at the Naval Academy, for a fully tax-deductible donation of $2,500 (per chair) or $1,000 (per brick), payable over a period of up to three years, you can ensure your sentiments will have an enduring place on the Yard.
For more information, contact Amanda Ojeda at [email protected] or (410) 295-1062. You can claim a chair or a brick online at www.usni.org/foundation by clicking on the orange “DONATE” button. You also can mail your donation using a check or credit card to Naval Institute Foundation, 291 Wood Road, Annapolis, MD 21402. We will be in touch about your preferred personalization before it is engraved.
