It’s always special for us when the leader of one of America’s Sea Services contributes to Proceedings, even more so when that individual is new to office and chooses our pages to outline the priorities for his tenure and beyond. This month, we’re excited to have the new Chief of Naval Operations, Admiral Jonathan Greenert, share his thoughts with us in the open forum.
The CNO offers his vision of where the Navy will be in 2025. He notes that the service likely will encounter a sea change—so to speak—in many of its operational capabilities and responsibilities as the international maritime environment takes on a new complexion. But he remains confident that even in that evolving atmosphere, the Navy will emphasize warfighting and its commitment to be at the forefront of global engagement.
