'Though lions to their enemies they were lambs to their friends.'
-Benjamin Disraeli (1804-1881)
Buried in an old photo album is this picture of a pair of China Marines from May 1927. The album's creator, Private Joseph J. Boone, was with the 79th Company, 2d Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, in Tientsin. His fellow Marines, identified by a handwritten inscription beneath the photograph, are Private Steve G. Bobovnick (left) and Private Lee A. Brown. Boone and Bobovnick may have been good friends. A muster roll indicates that both were AWOL the same days, 19 to 22 August.
