Lieutenant Swain is a Seahawk weapons and tactics instructor and MH-60S pilot currently on the Carrier Air Wing 5 staff embarked on the USS Ronald Reagan (CVN-76). He deployed to Fifth Fleet in 2015 with the Kearsarge Amphibious Ready Group (ARG)/26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) and in 2018 with the Iwo Jima ARG/26th MEU. While assigned to Helicopter Sea Combat Weapons School Pacific, he was the standardization officer and AMCM subject matter expert. He is the winner of the 2018 CNO Naval History Essay Contest and 2017 Navy/Marine Corps Leadership Award.
