Captain Ilteris, a career amphibious surface warfare officer, is the commanding officer of the USS Anchorage (LPD-23) in San Diego. He previously commanded the USS Harpers Ferry (LSD-49) and served as chief staff officer of Amphibious Squadron 6. He is a graduate of the Naval War College and the Army War College at Carlisle Barracks.
