Dr. Blank is a former professor of Russian national security studies at the U.S. Army War College’s Strategic Studies Institute. He has written more than 1,000 articles and monographs and written or edited 15 books on Soviet/Russian, U.S., Asian, and European military and foreign policies. His latest work is Light from the East: Russia’s Quest for Great Power Status in Asia (Ashgate Publishers, 2018).
