Lieutenant Commander O’Donnell, a career helicopter pilot, is assigned to U.S. Coast Guard Headquarters in the Office of Safety and Environmental Health. He is a 2007 graduate of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy and was designated a naval aviator in 2009. He has served at multiple Coast Guard air stations, holds a master’s degree from Tufts University, and is a PhD Candidate in Mechanical Engineering.
