A graduate of Oberlin College in 1952, Mr. Adams attended the Officer Candidate School, Newport, Rhode Island in 1953 and served with the Naval Security Group, Washington, D. C., from 1953 to 1956. Employed by Alcoa Steamship Company from 1956 to 1960, he was assigned to the New Orleans, Mobile, and Caracas, Venezuela, offices before accepting a position with the Marine Department of Gulf Oil Corporation (New York).
