Lieutenant (junior grade) Long is from San Clemente, California, and earned her bachelors in political science with a minor in criminal justice studies from Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, California. Shortly after graduating, she joined the Coast Guard and attended officer candidate school (OCS 2-21), where she graduated and was assigned as an intelligence staff officer with Sector Columbia River’s Intelligence Division.
