Lieutenant Colonel Jason “TOGA” Trew, U.S. Air Force, Ph.D., is a senior pilot and a graduate of the U.S. Air Force School of Advanced Air and Space Studies (SAASS). This article is based on his M.Phil. thesis, “Heroes for a Wicked World: Ender’s Game as a Case for Fiction in PME.” His current research project is an exploration into the intersection of Air Force culture, design thinking, technology, strategy, and play.
