Joining the Naval Reserve in 1943, Lieutenant McGuinness went through courses at Fort Schuyler and Harvard, taught communications at Camp Shelton, and is now Communication Officer attached to L.S.T. Group Staff 69. He graduated from St. Anselm College and then took a Bachelor of Laws degree from Boston College.
