Lieutenant Colonel Lyon graduated from the Naval Academy in 1925 and served in the California until his resignation in 1928. He entered the Marine Corps Reserve and served overseas during the last war in an A.A.A. battalion in the Ellice Islands and in the Saipan-Tinian Campaign. He was an investment securities salesman with the National City Company of New York from 1928 to 1932 and has been in life insurance since then except for 1941 through 1945. He became a Chartered Life Underwriter in 1939 and is a Life Member of the Million Dollar Round Table, N.A.L.U.
