Lieutenant Command Greenwell is a 2006 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy. He formerly served as strike officer, first lieutenant, and navigator on board the USS Cape St. George (CG-71); flag lieutenant to Commander, Military Sealift Command; instructor at the Surface Warfare Officers' School; operations officer on board the USS Forrest Sherman (DDG-98); operations officer at Destroyer Squadron 50; and commanding officer of the USS Zephyr (PC-8). He will be a student at the National War College this coming academic year and has follow-on orders to the USS Lewis B. Puller (ESB-3) Gold Crew as the executive officer.
