Captain Okata is a 1996 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy. A career surface warfare officer serving primarily in cruisers, destroyers, and frigates, he commanded the USS Pinckney (DDG-91) and Task Force 63. He is currently Commanding Officer, Singapore Area Coordinator.
