Mr. Browning, member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, 1914, was graduated in engineering and naval architecture at Lehigh University in 1905. Much of his work has been on analysis of industrial processes, while the sea has been his life-long avocation. His recent work with the U. S. Power Squadrons led to these expositions of ocean waves, tides, and currents.
