Petty Officer Howland recently completed a tour on board the Avenger-class mine countermeasures ship USS Sentry (MCM-3) in Bahrain. He currently is transitioning to the littoral combat ship training program as part of the mine countermeasures package for the Freedom-class LCS variant.
