Lieutenant Smeeks, an engineering duty officer, recently completed a master’s degree in systems engineering at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California. A 2016 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, he has served on board the USS America (LHA-6) and New York (LPD-21).
