A graduate of Syracuse University in 1937, Mr. Lerche received his doctor’s degree from the University of North Carolina. Subsequently he taught at Knox College and Emory University, and since 1959 has been Professor of International Relations, School of International Service, American University. In 1958, he was academic consultant in international relations at the U. S. Naval War College. Mr. Lerche is the author of three textbooks on international relations and American foreign policy, plus numerous articles in professional journals.
