Major Nicola (Nick) Brunetti-Lihach, USMC

Major Nick Brunetti-Lihach is a Native of Bayside, New York. After graduating from Ithaca College with a B.A. in History, he attended Officer Candidate School, where he was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps in November 2007. Following The Basic School, he was designated a communications officer upon graduation from the Basic Communication Officer Course, and has earned several information technology and cyber security certifications. He received a Masters in Professional Studies in Homeland Security from Tulane University in 2013, and is a distinguished graduate of the United States Army Command and General Staff College in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.

His operational tours include deployments to the Middle East in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM as CLR-15 (FWD) S-6, and Operation INHERENT RESOLVE with NSWG-1 as J6 Director, CJSOTF-Iraq. He has also served as Future Operations Officer, MARSOC G-6, and Company Commander, Headquarters Company, Marine Raider Regiment.

Other assignments include Assistant Operations Officer, MARFORRES G-6, and Operations Officer, MAGTF Information Technology Support Center Reserve. Maj Brunetti-Lihach is currently assigned as the MAGTF Operations Afloat Course Director for Expeditionary Warfare School, Marine Corps University.

His written work has been published in Proceedings, the Marine Corps Gazette, War on the Rocks, and other publications.
