Plebes Receive Books through Donor Gifts
Each member of the U.S. Naval Academy Class of 2013 has received a gratis copy of the Naval Institute Press's Guiding Lights.
This inspirational book by professor Nancy Arbuthnot spotlights the military heroes who are the namesakes of Academy buildings and monuments and features photographs and original poems by former midshipmen. Publication of Guiding Lights was underwritten by a group of donors whose generosity allowed the book's one-time distribution to an entire Academy class. The Naval Institute's goal is to endow this worthy educational project so that all future midshipmen may receive a copy during their challenging plebe year. Your tax-deductible gift earmarked for Guiding Lights will assist this effort.
