Admiral Dennis Wilkinson's History Is Now Available
Support from a number of admirers has enabled the Naval Institute to complete Vice Admiral Eugene P. "Dennis" Wilkinson's oral history. Admiral Wilkinson is best known as the inaugural skipper of the world's first nuclear-powered vessel, the submarine USS Nautilus (SSN-571), and the Navy's first nuclear-powered surface ship, the guided-missile cruiser USS Long Beach (CGN-9).
Our thanks to the following supporters for their outstanding generosity toward this project:

Join Us for Naval Institute Day at Navy Homecoming
If you plan to attend the Naval Academy's Homecoming football game on Saturday, 14 October, stop by the Superintendent's Tent to help celebrate the Naval Institute's 133rd anniversary. (The Institute was founded at the Academy on 9 October 1873.) You can rub shoulders with fellow Institute members, authors, and staff and be our guest for birthday cake and tailgate fare. The Supe's Tent is located inside the stadium on the "Blue" (home team) side, and will be manned by Institute staff members through the third quarter of the Rutgers game.
For more information, contact Matt Schatzle at (410) 295-1057 or [email protected].
