Captain Curry commanded Escort Division 30 from his flagship, the Knoxville (PF-64), until VE Day. A 1930 graduate of the Coast Guard Academy, he remained on active duty until 1962, when he retired to the law practice he maintains in Arlington, Virginia. He attends the Pride reunion every year.
