Commander Eric Purdon, U. S. Naval Reserve, was born in Manila, and before 1941 he was an associate editor with Farrar & Rinehart, book publishers. In 1936 he was a member of the Inner Mongolian Expedition. Entering the Naval Reserve in 1941, he has served at sea, and in Naval Intelligence and the Naval Office of Public Information.
