Admiral Boone, a graduate of the Naval Academy in the Class of 1921, is a naval aviator who had extensive command and staff duty with the fast carrier forces in both the Pacific and Atlantic in World War II. His recent assignments include duty with the Joint Chiefs of Staff (1952- 54), as Superintendent of the U. S. Naval Academy (1954-56), as Commander in Chief, U. S. Naval Forces, Eastern Atlantic and Mediterranean (1956- 58), and currently as U. S. Representative on the Military Committee and on the Standing Group of NATO.
