Lieutenant Commander Gay is currently assigned to the Naval Air Warfare Development Center at Naval Air Station Fallon, Nevada, as the aviation safety and maintenance officer. He graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 2005. An F/A-18F Super Hornet pilot, he earned his JTAC and FAC(A) qualifications and deployed twice, seeing combat in Iraq and Afghanistan. In 2015, he reported to SEAL Team 8 as the fire-support officer and deployed to East Africa and Europe.
