Now living in Honolulu where he is in the advertising business, Lieutenant Maupin has had considerable experience aboard naval salvage vessels. During World War II he served for a year and a half in U.S.S. Snatch (ARS-27) and when recalled to active duty in 1950, he served for a year in U.S.S. Conserver (ARS-39). In the interim between his tours of active duty he was editor and publisher of the Watertown News, Watertown, New York, and, later, a staff member of the United Nations at Lake Success, New York.
