Commander Visser is the commanding officer of Navy Reserve Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) Squadron One Detachment Everett, Washington. He has seven years of active-duty service and eight years of Reserve service, serving at sea on board the USS Anzio (CG-68) and Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN-69), ashore as an instructor for the Surface Warfare School Command’s Basic Division Officer Course, and in the Navy Reserve at Maritime Expeditionary Security Squadron 1. He commanded LCS Reserve units in Fort Worth, Texas, and Phoenix, Arizona, from 2021 to 2024 and took his current command in April 2024—all while living in San Diego, California, working full time as a contract navigation, seamanship and shiphandling instructor at the Littoral Combat Ship Training Facility.
