Captain Harper graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 2015. Following graduation from Infantry Officers Course, he reported to 1st Battalion, 7th Marines, as a combined antiarmor platoon commander and deployed to Syria in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. He is a recent graduate of the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California.
