Commander Stochel is an E-2 Hawkeye pilot with more than 3,500 hours and 400 carrier-arrested landings. A 2004 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, he holds a master of arts degree in national security studies from the U.S. Naval War College and is a graduate of the Maritime Advanced Warfighting School. He is currently assigned to U.S. Fleet Forces Command in Norfolk, Virginia, as a joint operational planner.
