Rear Admiral Jeremy “Bear” Taylor was a light attack tailhooker in 1958 who stretched his 6,000-hour, 1,000-trap, 200-Vietnam-combat-mission flying career out long enough to command and fly Pacific Fleet F/A-18 Hornet strike-fighters in 1987–88. His career was highlighted by five aviation and ship commands, including the USS Coral Sea (CVA-43), 1983–84. Admiral Taylor manages Rolling Thunder Remembered—a blog site dedicated to chronicling Operation Rolling Thunder, the March 1965–November 1968 air war over North Vietnam. His post is adapted from an entry on his site.
