Graduated from Harvard College in 1951, Lieutenant Mandel is Legal, Discipline, and Investigations Officer, Naval Air Station Cecil Field, Jacksonville, Florida. Editorial chairman of the Harvard Crimson while in college and staffer for several Boston newspapers, he has contributed a number of articles on naval and military affairs to the service journals.
