A graduate of Oklahoma State University, Mrs. Swartz is a former newspaperwoman and was for 12 years a columnist and staff writer for the U. S. Naval Academy alumni magazine, Shipmate. Her feature stories have appeared in the Washington Star, Baltimore Sun, New York Herald Tribune, Baltimore Sunday American, Bride's Magazine, and Scholastic Coach. She is co-author of the book Service Etiquette, published by the U. S. Naval Institute.
