Lieutenant Commander Sawyer is a combat-decorated U.S. Navy air battle manager serving as a squadron department head in Norfolk, Virginia. He has deployed to every fleet area of responsibility and participated in numerous multinational exercises, most recently, on board the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN-69) in support of Operation Prosperity Guardian. A Carrier Airborne Early Warning Weapons School graduate, he served five years as a weapons and tactics instructor and, in 2022, was selected for the Navy Fleet Scholar Program. He holds a master of international public policy degree from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.
