A graduate of the U. S. Naval Academy with the class of 1946, Captain Myron Eckhart, Jr., U.S. Navy, was assigned to sea duty and graduate schooling until 1950 when he was designated for Engineering Duty. From 1950 to 1962, he served in engineering assignments in a shipyard, a laboratory, and on the staff of a Type Commander. Assigned as an instructor in the USNA Science Department from 1962 until 1965, he was Head, Electrical-Electronics Design Branch, NavShips, from 1965 until 1967 when he assumed his present duties as Head, Ship Concept Design Division, Naval Ship Engineering Center.
