Commander Cortese is the chief of performance systems and curriculum design at the Aviation Training Center in Mobile, Alabama. He is a career boat forces officer, having served at multiple small boat stations and Coast Guard sectors. He holds master’s degrees from Florida State University and American Military University, and is a 2001 Graduate of the Virginia Military Institute.
