Lieutenant Commander Pecora is the external affairs officer for the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. A permanent cutterman, she previously served as executive officer of the USCGC Seneca (WMEC-906), has commanded the cutter Sitkinak (WPB-1329), served two tours on the Sherman (WHEC-720), and is a plankowner of the Bertholf (WMSL-750). Shoreside tours include executive assistant to the ForceCom Commander and Fifth District external affairs officer. She holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the Coast Guard Academy and a master’s degree in media and communications studies from Florida State University.
