Sergeant Olarte enlisted in the Marine Corps in 2017. She is currently a data systems supervisor and Marine Corps instructor of water survival with the School of Infantry–East at Camp Geiger, North Carolina. She is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in philosophy at UC Irvine, with plans to continue her service to the Corps and community.
