A geographer and specialist on the U.S.S.R., Dr. Morrison is currently lecturing on the geography of the Soviet Union at the University of Wisconsin. Prior to World War II he taught the subject at the University of Chicago and during the war served as Deputy Chief of the U.S.S.R. Division of O.S.S. After the war he was successively Chief of the Eastern European Branch in the State Department’s Office of Intelligence Research, a civilian faculty member of the National War College (1947 and 1948), and head of the Department of Geography at the University of Maryland. He has lectured on the U.S.S.R. at the Naval War College and the Air War College as well as at the National War College. During the spring quarter of the current academic year he will teach at the University of Washington.
