Commander Runion is an instructor at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. Her previous assignments include executive officer on board the USCGC Active (WMEC-618), international port security liaison officer at Activities Europe, and executive officer and maritime law enforcement boarding officer on board the USCGC Orcas (WPB-1327). She holds a bachelor’s degree in government and international affairs from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy and a master’s degree in foreign service from Georgetown University.
