Dr. Young is a Department of Defense civilian and earned his PhD in U.S. history from Kansas State University. He is the winner of the U.S. Naval Institute’s 2016 Cyberwarfare Essay Contest (“To Rule the Ether”), placed 2nd in the Virginia Military Institute’s James Adams Cold War Essay Contest, and has previously published in Proceedings, The Journal of Military History, and Armor. Dr. Young’s writings are used in professional training by the U.S., UK, and Israeli militaries.
