Assigned to duty in submarines since 1939, and with war patrols in the Barb and the Gurnard, Chief Dewey is at present an assistant to the Public Information Officer, Staff, Commander of Submarines, Atlantic Fleet. “I have studied creative writing and journalism,” he writes, “which partially explains the puzzle attending a Chief Engineman (SS) doing duty in Public Information.”
