Lieutenant Commander Porter earned a bachelor’s degree in physics from the U.S. Naval Academy in 2012 and a master’s in engineering management from Old Dominion University. Prior to joining the IW community, he served eight years as a surface warfare officer and navy nuclear engineer with sea tours on the USS Kidd (DDG-100) and Eisenhower (CVN-69).
