General Donovan serves as the Commanding General, 2d Marine Division. He previously served as the Assistant Commanding General, Joint Special Operations Command in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Previously, he spent two years as Commanding General, Naval Amphibious Forces, Task Force 51/5th Marine Expeditionary Brigade—known as Task Force 51/5.
