A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, Major Guelzo has seen continuous service since December 1942, as an enlisted man (both reserve and active duty) and commissioned officer (active and inactive reserve officer and active Regular Army). In 1951, during the Korean Conflict, he served as a platoon leader in the Third AAA Battalion, Third Infantry Division. He returned to Korea from 1959 to 1961 as a Korean Language Officer assigned to the Military Armistice Commission. He is now serving as a Nuclear Weapons Instructor at the U. S. Army Transportation School, Fort Eustis, Virginia.
