Lieutenant Carrillo is a career surface warfare officer and an instructor at Surface Warfare Schools Command Newport. He previously served as the navigator on board the USS Portland (LPD-27) in San Diego, California. A 2015 graduate of Texas A&M University, he commissioned through Officer Candidate School.
