Mr. Pace was the communications officer of the LST-386 in the landings at Sicily, Salerno, and Anzio, and the commanding officer in the Normandy landings. Later he was operations and gunnery officer for LSM Flotilla One in the Pacific. After the war he served for one year of active duty in the Office of the Navy General Counsel and remained in that office as a civilian lawyer. He then became counsel for the Office of Naval Research and served in that capacity until retiring in 1972. Mr. Pace retired from the Naval Reserve in 1976.
