Naval Institute Press Books
The Norman Friedman Illustrated Design History series of U.S. warship books has been an industry standard for three decades and has sold tens of thousands of copies worldwide. The Naval Institute Press is proud to make these books available once more, for a new generation of readers and researchers. Digitally remastered for enhanced photo resolution and quality, corrected, and updated, this series will continue to serve—for scholars and enthusiasts alike—as the foundation for U.S. naval warship research and reference for years to come. The first two books to be republished are U.S. Destroyers and U.S. Submarines through 1945. To order your copies, go to www.usni.org/press.
Encourage Your Shipmates and Fellow Marines to Become Members Today
Since 1873, the Naval Institute has been a member organization. Our members provide support for everything we do to enhance the knowledge of seapower and provide an open forum for professional dialogue about the future of the Sea Services. Membership in the Institute is also a powerful way to advance individual knowledge and professionalism. Our conferences and events, photo archives, oral histories, USNI News coverage, Press books, and Proceedings and Naval History magazines are foundational to the success of officers and enlisted members of the Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard. If you value our mission and content, please keep your membership current and encourage your shipmates and fellow Marines to join at www.usni.org/join.
