Patrol Forces Southwest Asia (PatForSWA) in Bahrain received the first two of six planned U.S. Coast Guard fast response cutters (FRCs) at the end of May 2021. The Sentinel-class FRCs eventually will replace all six Island-class patrol boats that have served in the Persian Gulf since 2003. The patrol boats Adak (WPB-1333) and Aquidneck (WPB-1309) were decommissioned in Bahrain on 15 June.
