When completed in December 2020, the Jack C. Taylor Conference Center will embody the Naval Institute’s commitment to independent thinking and open dialogue. Adjoining the Institute’s headquarters on the grounds of the Naval Academy, it will serve as a beacon for all naval professionals who will benefit from this world-class facility for generations to come.
An exciting focal point will be the Celestial Wall, spanning all three decks of the center. It will portray the night sky in Annapolis on the evening of the Naval Institute’s founding, 9 October 1873. The stars will be made of dichroic glass, which will reflect light from the skylights above and change colors based on the angle of light and the vantage point of the viewer.
Nestled among the constellations will be the names of the leadership supporters who have made the Conference Center possible. The Naval Institute is delighted to have this unique historical setting to permanently recognize these individual, corporate, and foundation benefactors for their investment in our future.
Inclusion on the Celestial Wall indicates a gift or pledge for the Conference Center of at least $50,000 (payable over up to five years). For more information about this special opportunity, please contact Heather Lancaster at (410) 295-1048 or at [email protected].
