In His Own Words: O. Jay Tomson
I chose to be a Life Member of the Naval Institute. Its leadership, dedication to its mission, and commitment to the broad audience of our citizens who are interested in the history and current affairs of the U.S. Navy is without peer. It is an opportunity to become a part of something very worthwhile.
I am an armchair history buff and enjoy reading Naval History. Proceedings offers the finest and most worthwhile commentary on current issues facing our nation. The Institute serves as a positive voice in the defense of the nation and stresses the need for a strong national defense and the protection of free trade and a free society.
